Education:

PhD. : 2022. Cochin University of Science and Technology.
Thesis "Petrochronological constraints on the tectonothermal evolution of Kambam ultrahigh-temperature belt and its implications for the Precambrian crustal evolution of south India".
M.Sc : 2016. Geology, University of Kerala.
B.Sc : 2014. Geology, University of Kerala.

Area of Specialization & Interest:

My research focuses on developing and applying advanced in-situ petrochronological techniques to investigate fundamental solid Earth processes. This involves the integration of accessory mineral geochronology, trace element geochemistry, phase equilibria modeling, and both traditional and non-traditional isotope systems. My primary research interests and technical expertise include:

  • In-situ geochronology of accessory minerals to constrain the timing of magmatic and metamorphic events, elucidate source characteristics, and trace the growth, evolution, and differentiation of the continental crust.
  • Pressure-temperature-time-deformation evolution of high to ultrahigh-temperature/pressure metamorphic complexes, through the integration of phase equilibrium modeling and texturally controlled in-situ geochronology.
  • Detrital geochronology for understanding crustal evolution, basin development, and sedimentary provenance.
  • Carbonate geochronology to constrain the timing of faulting, mineralization, fossilization, fluid flow, and deformation.
  • In-situ analyses of non-traditional isotopes in accessory minerals to investigate early continental crust formation, fluid-rock interaction, metasomatism, and elemental cycling.
  • Analytical specialization in high-vacuum mass spectrometry (single- and multi-collector) coupled with laser ablation systems for high-resolution isotopic and geochemical analysis, including the development of analytical protocols and matrix-matched reference materials.
