- In-situ geochronology of accessory minerals to constrain the timing of magmatic and metamorphic events, elucidate source characteristics, and trace the growth, evolution, and differentiation of the continental crust.
- Pressure-temperature-time-deformation evolution of high to ultrahigh-temperature/pressure metamorphic complexes, through the integration of phase equilibrium modeling and texturally controlled in-situ geochronology.
- Detrital geochronology for understanding crustal evolution, basin development, and sedimentary provenance.
- Carbonate geochronology to constrain the timing of faulting, mineralization, fossilization, fluid flow, and deformation.
- In-situ analyses of non-traditional isotopes in accessory minerals to investigate early continental crust formation, fluid-rock interaction, metasomatism, and elemental cycling.
- Analytical specialization in high-vacuum mass spectrometry (single- and multi-collector) coupled with laser ablation systems for high-resolution isotopic and geochemical analysis, including the development of analytical protocols and matrix-matched reference materials.
