Air Quality Monitoring Lab (MAPAN)
Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS) at NCESS Campus is equipped with all the necessary analyzers required for Ambient Air Quality monitoring, calibration equipment, data acquisition hardware and software with complete power backup. The system is installed as a part of IITM - NCESS collaborative project on Modelling Air Pollution and Networking (MAPAN) sponsored by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India.
Met One BAM 1020
Measures ambient particulate matter concentrations (PM10 & PM2.5) using beta ray attenuation.
Measurement resolution is 0.24 μg in 1mg range, 2.4 μg in 10mg range, 12 bit resolution.
Data Resolution is 1 μg/m3.
Data Interval is Hourly concentration values.
Flow Rate is 16.7 liters per minute.
Glass fiber filter tape is used to collect dust samples, 60 days of operation per roll. Standard 8x40 character LCD with dynamic keypad. Isolated 0 –1 VDC analog output.
RS-232 serial port with USB converter for serial interface.
Ecotech Serinus 30 CO analyser
Measure CO in ambient air, in the range of 0- 200ppm to a sensitivity of 0.05 ppm. Microprocessor control and Proven Gas Filter Correlation (GFC) combined with Non-Dispersive Infrared Spectrophotometry (NDIR) technology. Sample flow rate is 1 slpm. Analog output voltage of 0 to 5 V.RS232 digital communication or termination panel connections and USB port connection on rear panel.USB stick memory for data logging, event logging and parameter storage.
Ecotech Serinus 10 O3 analyser
Measure ozone to a sensitivity of 0.5ppb in the range of 0-20ppm. Uses non-dispersive ultraviolet (UV) absorption technology. Mercury vapour lamp – to provide detector input. (254nm UV Light Source). Photodiode detector – to capture the measurement response. Analog output voltage of 0 to 5 V. RS232 digital communication or termination panel connections and USB port connection on rear panel. USB stick memory for data logging, event logging and parameter storage.
Ecotech Serinus 40 NOx analyser
Continuous analysis of nitric oxide (NO), total oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). Uses gas phase chemilluminescence detection method. Measures to a sensitivity of 0.4 ppb in the range of 0-20 ppm.

Magee Scientific Aethalometer
Real-time analysis of Black Carbon (BC) aerosol concentration.
Measuring the rate of change in absorption of transmitted light at 7 wavelengths by aerosol deposit on filter tape.
User selectable flow rate; 2 to 5 LPM
Quartz fiber filter tape is used for sample collection.
Digital data is available via rear RS-232 (COM) port.
Analog data is available via rear panel terminals representing Black Carbon data as 0~5 volt DC signal. 4-line display screen with keypad and status indication color LED’s. Built-in data storage facility.
Synspec Alpha 115 GC
Real time analysis of methane and the sum of all other hydrocarbons in air (TNMHC). Real gas chromatograph which contains a compact oven with a column with a special layered packing and FID detector. Measurement range is 0.1 – 10 ppm for Methane, 05 – 20 ppm for TNMHC. Windows Xpe Embedded computer hardware with Pentium class processor. Direct control via external screen, keyboard and mouse. Digital and Analog output ports, RS232, USB connections are available for transmitting concentration data to an external data logger.
SONIMIX 3080 Hydrogen generator
Instrument composed of a Hydrogen generator as well as a Zero Air generator. Used to supply hydrogen for FID in Alpha 115 GC. Uses membrane electrolysis technology for the production of electrolytic hydrogen. Outlet pressure can be adjustable between 0.1 and 6 bar.
Rs232 interface for external PC connection.
Ecotech GasCal 1100
Used in conjunction with gas analysers (CO, O3, NOx) to provide precise and constant volumes of zero air or dilutions of span gas. One input standard gas dilution, 170-200 kPa. One to four input gas sources, 170-200 kPa. Programmable through front panel keyboard or computer. Standard RS-232 port is available to connect an Ecotech 8301-LC Zero Air Source as diluent.
